WHO WE ARE

The World Apostolate of Fatima is a PUBLIC INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF THE FAITHFUL, approved by the Holy See, whose DECREE OF ERECTION was signed on October, 7, 2005, Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Our international association was created, as late as 1947, in the United States of America, by the hand of Father Harold Colgan and Mr. John Haffert. The name given to the movement was initially Blue Army but, as it spread quickly around the world, it became an international apostolate with millions of members and national centres in various countries, adopting the worldwide recognised name WORLD APOSTOLATE OF FATIMA. The World Apostolate of Fatima has, as its general purpose, the promotion of the authentic teaching of the Catholic Church and the strict adherence to the tenets of the Gospel; the personal sanctification of adherents through faithful adherence to the message of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima – Portugal, in 1917, to three little shepherds, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta Marto and the promotion of the common good by the spreading of this same message. The international headquarters of the World Apostolate of Fatima are located in Fatima, Portugal.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the World Apostolate of Fatima is fundamentally the "New Evangelisation" through the promotion of the Message of Fatima. Our Lady of Fatima asked for prayer and penance leading to amendment of life. She asked for a more genuine devotion to the Eucharist and for consecration to Her Immaculate Heart, the path to God. The urgent necessity for a response to this Message, and for a worldwide promotion of it, in the interest of salvation of souls, acceleration of the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and of peace in the world, is the moving force behind the spread of the World Apostolate of Fatima throughout the world. "Fatima, in its message and its blessing, is conversion to God.”- Pope John Paul II, May 12th, 1991, at Fatima. Thus, the World Apostolate of Fatima, following the example of the three Little Shepherds, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta, tries to incarnate this message of hope and stimulate others to do the same.

Our Lady of Fátima is a Catholic title of the Blessed Virgin Mary based on the Marian.He wishes also for you to establish devotion in the world to my Immaculate Heart."The World Apostolate of Fatima is made up of people from all over the world who adhere to the principles of the Movement through a COMMITMENT.In spreading the Message of Fatima and in promoting the New Evangelization, members are inserted in the parish, diocesan and national structures of the Movement and in the dynamics of local Churches,in communion with the Priests of the Church.Countries affiliated to the World Apostolate of Fatima.
